An image from the 1963 Street Directory for Swindon.

I have a small collection of old Postcards of Swindon and one of them is of one of the wards at the Swindon Isolation Hospital, which was in use until much later than I imagined. I liked the image as it is a photograph and shows the regime of the times.

I recently had a discussion with someone on Facebook regarding the location of Upper Eastcott Farm Swindon. It started because of a photograph of a house in Eastcott Hill that has been named Eastcott Farm House.

I grew up living in Goddard Avenue in the 60’s and I had heard that there had been a cricket club playing somewhere near Goddard Avenue.
